Runway Lounge ITA Airways
Once again, Robilant stands alongside ITA in the creation of the new Milan lounge.
A project that brings together branding, architecture, and the culture of travel. A space that faces the runway, but speaks to the city. With ITA Airways’ new Runway Lounge at Milan Linate Airport, we have transformed airport waiting time into an expression of identity, hospitality, and representation. A space designed to inhabit the time of travel, connecting the experience to a cultural and sensorial dimension, and turning the wait into a meaningful and integral part of the journey.
A NEW LOUNGE AREA OVERLOOKING THE LINATE RUNWAY
The project was conceived as a site-specific intervention, envisioned as a symbolic extension of the runway—almost a continuation of it within the terminal. A physical and perceptive threshold between inside and outside, between Milan and the world. At the heart of the lounge, a silent room created from an original aircraft fuselage: not just a scenic installation, but a tribute to aviation heritage, to the very material of flight, and to the national airline with its unmistakable colors—a perfect balance between function and imagination.
ITA - ITALY
The entire space is inhabited solely by Italian design. Not for aesthetics, but for identity. Furnishings and accessories are selected from icons of Italian craftsmanship, in collaboration with brand-partners that represent the excellence of Made in Italy. Every detail—from the layout to the lighting, from materials to volumes—has been conceived to deliver a coherent and immersive experience, blending function, storytelling, and beauty. Nothing is merely decorative: every element tells a story, every finish conveys meaning, every object is an act of representation.
MILAN
Conceived as a flagship space, capable of hosting events, fashion shows, and institutional gatherings, the Runway Lounge embodies Milan’s public vocation: a crossroads of cultures, a capital of design, and a gateway to Europe. A space designed to be experienced, enlivened, and shared—reflecting the energy and openness of a city in constant connection with the world.
A long-standing tradition in designing branded spaces
The project is part of our long-standing tradition in designing branded spaces and airport environments—from the ITA Hangar Lounge in Rome Fiumicino, to the earlier Alitalia lounge, the MyChef formats, and the Ferrari Spazio Bollicine. In each of these projects, the vision remains the same: transforming the space into an extension of the brand, capable of generating cultural, identity-based and economic value. An integrated vision that blends architecture, design, and brand strategy and once again confirms us as a point of reference in the creation of spaces where Italian companies tell their stories—both within and beyond national borders.
